History

In the early 1950's "Father"Jan Kreuk decided, at the age of 15, to move form Lutjebroek and work at the business of his brother-in-law, who owned a flower bulb nursery in Breezand. This is where he learned the bulb-growing trade. After several years of working here, he decided to start his own business. With jus one basket of tulips, he took his chance. After marrying Riet Steenvoorden, he and his wife moved to the Molenaart in Anna Paulownda where they lived next to Arie van Hienen. Next to the house stood a small barn, but there was no land for Jan to grow his stock. He rented the land from Van zanten in Julianadorp. Later on, he built a new barn on te Molenvaart.

In 1969, they bought a house in Julianadorp with business premises (at first chikcen barns) and 3,5 hectares of land. They prepared the barns and land for bulb cultivation and Jan got started. His wife and children helped him as much as they could.

Several barns were bought from contractor Schouwenaar at the end of de 1970's. The last one of these was demolished in 2002. When Rob graduated from The lower hroticultural school in 1981. he joined his fater as a partner in a partnership. Later, this was converted into a firm: Fa. J. Th. Kreuk & Zn. Jan Kreuk left the firm in 1998. Rob then went on in a oneman business that went by the name of R.W.S. Kreuk.

In Ocotber of 2000, John (brother of rob) joined the company as a partner and the old firm nam, Fa. J. Th. Kreuk & Zn., was restored.
